hehe... The name wasn't the only change :)
As I said before you should upgrade your c++ compiler and libs, look at
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/gcc/ for something more recent like
gcc-2.95.2

You can alternatively just upgrade your libstdc++. What is your current
version ? (ls /usr/lib/lib*++*)

And why do you want to use octave-2.1.30 ? The stable (2.0.16) version
should certainly work better with your old g++.
