[Bug libc/18608] New: enable-kernel does nothing

https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18608

            Bug ID: 18608
           Summary: enable-kernel does nothing
           Product: glibc
           Version: 2.21
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: libc
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: 415fox at gmail dot com
CC: drepper.fsp at gmail dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

Compiled with --enable-kernel=2.4.0 just to be sure. Build system is new, test
system is a little older with kernel 2.6.18-238, a famous redhat release. After
transfering binaries (gnu hello) to the test system I get the dreaded "FATAL:
kernel too old". So tell me, what is enable-kernel for except nothing?
