I just reproduced this with i686 and --with-tls --with-__thread on
glibc-2.3.2 while generating the build matrix for crosstool-0.41.
The problem doesn't happen in glibc-2.3.5 or glibc-2.3.6, fwiw.
Possibly --without-__thread would help (cf. the comments
in bug 317), but I haven't tried it yet.
