Thanks. I see the reasoning, but it is unfortunate that this program _silently_
produces invalid results. Two other people looked at this program and were
unable to recognise the problem. A quick google finds more than a few posts
to various mailing lists reporting the same problem.
Perhaps, at the very least, this needs to be more throughly explained in the
documentation?
