Are you saying that it was unclear that ``maintainers'' included
``write after approval''?  If so, why is that unclear? perhaps because
there's no ``maintainer'' word in ``write after approval''?


Exactly so. As I understand it, 'write after approval' does not mean 'maintainer'. I see that Mark Kettenis is also unclear on this point.


It certainly isn't a word I would apply to myself, for example, and I am in that list.
