Subject: corefile file format

Hi there.

Does anybody know if there is a spec for corefiles. And if there is a spec, where can I get it from?

What I want to do is, to write my own corefile with data from an embedded target (mips). So when the program which is runnnig on the target crashes, I want to write a corefile with the data from the RAM. 

Is this possible?
