Hai,
I am to design a source level debugger and for that i am planning
to use Dwarf format, I do not know much about the dwarf debugging format.
I have many questions to answer.
It will be very helpful if the answers are as explanaratory as
possible.
1. Are there any utilities that emit dwarf format(of use on the compiler
side) and utilities that can be used to extract debugging information from
the object files(of use on the debugger side). The environment in which
these utilities work.
2. What are the object file formats that can capture the dwarf format
information.
3. From the mailing lists, i could gather that GNU as(assembler) supports
dwarf formart, what are the other assemblers that support dwarf.
4. References to (exhaustive) literatue on debugging format.
