If this is a kernel bug, it happens both with the 2.4.21 and the 2.6.11.5
versions. I get the same error, with both kernel versions, and with both
gdb-6.1post and gdb-5.3post. This might be an indication that it is indeed not a
bug in gdb. Maybe the problem is somewhere else, like in libc?
