This is a documentation enhancement request.
Users occasionally ask "how do I debug a 100,000 line file" or "what is the largest file size that I can debug with gdb". It would be nice to add something to the gdb manual which says that -gstabs+ is limited to 65,536 lines and -gdwarf-2 is limited to (whatever the limit is).
