> If so then the answer is that the gdb-7.6 sources that you are using contain some auto-generated files (including bfdt.texi) that are potentially out of date with respect to the sources.
Thanks Nick, this was indeed the case. doc/.gitignore filters doc/bfdt.texi. My git status looked clean. So I did not realize that this was an auto-generated file.
