Re: [Head/5.3] Build failure on powerpc-aix-4.3.2

GDB fails to build aix-thread.c on our AiX 4.3.2 machine. I think this
is because aix-thread.c expects lib pthread debug version 2 or 3, while
we have lib pthread debug version 1 only installed on our 4.3.2 machine.

By contrast, we have version 3 installed on our AiX 5.1 machine.

The comment at the begining of aix-thread.c says that it should work on
4.3+ systems... Has anybody been able to build it on a 4.3.2 machine?
Does anybody have something else than version 1 of the pthread debug
library installed on a 4.3+ system? If you have something else than
version 1, you should see something like this in
/usr/include/sys/pthdebug.h:

     /* The pthread debug library version number. This is used to maintain
      * binary compatibility. The initial release of the pthread debug
      * library in AIX 4.3.2, represented by PTHDB_VERSION_1, was a
      * technology only release and binary compatibility with it is not
      * guaranteed. It is kept in this file for historical perspective
      * only.
      */
     #define PTHDB_VERSION_1 0xa1c432
     #define PTHDB_VERSION_2 0xa1c433
     #define PTHDB_VERSION_3 0xa1c434
Check the bug database (including closed). I know that people have reported problems. Eg:
