Then how can we be sure that any given change won't break something in
maintainer's setup, exactly like it happened for Chris here? I only
test my changes in an end-user setup, that is with all the files
created by "make dist" present, as if I just unpacked a source
distribution.
Do we need a procedure and someone responsible to verify that each
change works both for maintainers and end users?
