That would probably be a good place to place a script, but it still may
be useful for folks to read the original postings if they're so inclined.

It's occurred to me that it might be useful to combine the two scripts
into a single script.  That way people needing to purge PARAMS from
their local repositories can run just one script.  (I'd also adjust
the script to avoid touching gnu-regex.c and the entire testsuite
directory.)

Okay.  I'll wait 'til the weekend to do the commit.  I'll shoot for
midnight GMT Sunday.  (Which'll be 5:00 pm on Saturday for me.)
