Hey, that's great news.  I guess I'd probably vote for a backport
although getting it fixed in the development sources is the most
important thing.

I've added this (and the other "sparc kludge in GDB" issue) to
http://people.redhat.com/kingdon/ (near the bottom of the page, where
it says "The following patches we don't plan to submit").
