This man is potentially interested in improving gdb. ------- Start of forwarded message ------- From: "Randy Wolf" <rwolf@worldisp1.net> To: <gvc@gnu.org> Subject: restart capability in gdb? Date: Fri, 15 Jan 1999 11:05:36 -0600 I'm interested in being able to capture a running process image, storing it, and restarting it. Your gdb debugger doesn't seem to support this. If that is an incorrect assessment, then I would appreciate your telling me how this works. The dbx debugger on SUN's did have a 'restart' command if I recall correctly. If I am correct in thinking that gdb doesn't allow process saving/restart, then I might possibly be interested in working on adding that capability to gdb. I would need to know more details about how that would work. An estimate from someone familiar with gdb about how hard it would be to do would be something I would want to know. Thanks Dr. Randy P.
