Inconvenient? Deleting 10's of SPAM every day is *more* inconvenient. Who is more
important to the elfutils discussion - those who are subscribed and take the 5 seconds to
get subscribed, or random strangers who are too lazy to subscribe?
Totally skewed priorities ..

As has been mentioned, there is no mailserver administrator within reach who can do this.
There is however a list admin who can set the list to subscriber-only.
