Do you have more than 1 possible console? In particular is there another
serial port compiled in that may be open circuited? I found that once
Redboot "picks" which console is the one its going to use any other
consoles go dead.
Check your ecos.ecc to see that there is only 1 possible console and you
then be sure to be connected to that one ;-)
