Remember that for most of the serial tests you need to have the
ser_filter host program on the other end of the serial line.

Of course there may be lurking bugs in the eCos part of the port. It
has probably not seen a great deal of eCos use -- while it may have
worked once, it may have suffered a little bitrot since.
