loading application on redboot

Hi,
      I m trying to test some applications on my arm926ej-s target
system board after porting the RedBoot ROM monitor. i have followed
all the steps as stated in the Anthony`s eCos book...and tried both
the options of downloading the application program using hyperterminal
and the arm-elf-gdb, but it fails in the first step its self.

i have 2 serial ports on the target. i have configured port 0
for diagnostic channel, and port 1 as debug channel. following
is the output on hyperterminal when the system is powered.

+

RedBoot> load -v -m yMODEM

and when i use the arm-elf-gdb option on cygwin to download the
application..i get the following error:..

$ arm-elf-gdb -nw hello.exe

i tried even com2 but it fails to connect...
