taken the sources from the OpenBSD version from where the eCos tcp/ip stack
is ported.

Ah, so I remembered incorrectly about the license. Sorry about
that. Where did you get the original sources? The Linux
ppp_async code by Paul Mackerras that I've found is GPL'd.
