Do you have anything on your network sending broadcasts? An NTP server
or M$ machines which tend to broadcast every so often.

There was a problem that RedBoot IP stack would sometimes die when it
received a broadcast packet. I know this has been fixed, but your
redboot could be too old to contain the fix.
