Re: cygpcre.dll

Hi all,

I'm having problems in using GDB to run/debug tests in a standard i386
pc  motherboard. Yesterday I:
- generated a floppy with the latest x86 RedBoot;
- updated my eCos repository with cvs;
- updated my Cygwin tools with the latest "setup.exe";
- installed the latest eCos Config Tool, "configtool-2.08-setup.exe".

I built my target tools and i386-elf-gcc.exe is version is 2.95.2
19991024 (release), i386-elf-gdb.exe is version 5.1 configured as
"--host=i686-pc-cygwin --target=i386-elf".

Running the eCos Config Tool v2.08 it complains it needs the
cygpcre.dll. I couldn't find it but I discovered that:

: PCRE is a library of functions to support regular expressions whose
: syntax and semantics are as close as possible to those of the Perl 5
: language.

Here is a reference: http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/phpdoc/ref.pcre.html

Well, from the official link,
ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/programming/pcre/
I got the "pcre.dll", renamed to cygpcre.dll and drop at the eCos Config
Tool v2.08 folder - it worked! (no comments).

Now building the library and the tests I can't manage "eCos Config Tool
v2.08" to enable the <Tools> <Run Tests...> or Ctrl-F5 option. Btw, The
checkbox "Build Compiler sanity checking tests" in "eCos HAL" is checked.

Is this behavior related to this fake cygpcre.dll ??
Does anybody is using the "eCos Config Tool v2.08" ?

Thank you,
Jose Luiz
