[ECOS] eCos (RedBoot) and different kinds of flash

Hello,

how difficult would it be to have in one and the same build of RedBoot,
support for
- different kind of flashes (intel strata flash, and AMD am29lv040b) at
the same address
- different location of the same flash
- both of these ;)

On each platform, there would be only one kind of flash at one address,
but the
exact configuration can vary.

Also, is there already some strategy planned to provide a kind of
'flash' object, which
would contain information about :
- kind of flash, size, location, ... together with methods to
program/verify/erase the flash (associated to the kind of flash).
(in stead of the 'flash_program_buf', 'flash_query', ... functions).

This could make it much easier to support different kind of flashes.
