Simple mistake, could have happened to anyone... all 8-pin SOICs are the
same aren't they? <gdr>
First prototypes we got of our last project had an "xxx0" on them instead
of "xxx1" on the grounds that "supplier say parts very similar and in same
package". It was a 208-pin PQFP, very difficult to rework, we threw the
boards in the trash.
