Dear Jonathan,
I have some questions about the Cross Compiler:
I build the development tools for eCos follow the instructions
from Red Hat, my target is a pc mother-board.
The build procedure consists of these steps:
1.build and install the binutils;
2.add the path where the binutils resident in to the PATH
environment path;
3.build and install gcc;
4.build eCos;
so my question is:
1.the binutils is target-dependent, the bintuils I've built
and the pre-built one have the same name(eg, all as is "as"), so how can the
newly-compiled gcc find the correct binutils?
2.I have look at the binutils built for ppc, and I found all
of them has a prefix:"ppcXXX", so how can the gcc find them? the gcc can
determine the correct prefix of binutils commands?
that's all, thanks in advance.
