John, I have been using both ROM and RAM startup, though not entirely sure
about the gdb stubs (whatever is the default setting in the config), they both
should work fine. I use OpenOCD as gdb server with J-Link. (I got a driver for
the Kwikstik LCD together with couple of homemade bitmapped fonts, but had to
put that on back burner at the moment; I expect to have some time to come back
to this in couple of weeks, though I need to get the i2c driver for kinetis out
of the way first).
