I see. The question is what is worse -- mixing tt with em and strong or semantic misuse of code? I don't know.


There were a couple of open feature requests asking for b and i
output be changed to strong and em, and for tt to be changed to
code. And we seemed to have a consensus that those were not bad
ideas.  So the changes were made.

I know and I have nothing against these changes. I think that it doesn't matter at all, because there are classes on almost all elements generated from inline markup so one can customize rendering with CSS.
