My own approach to the "today's date" versioning problem is to use a
CVS $Date$ somewhere. That way it's automatically updated whenever I
checkin a new version of a document.
Which does somewhat restrict its utility Norm?
I could say the say for an emacs timestamp, but that's equally
colloquial?
When you do move to 2.0 I'd be happy to support a more generally
applicable date stamp as being the formatting time.
