As Ian Castle suggested, try openjade.

Yes, that's indeed jadetex 3.12, the latest.

You should.

Do note that table output problems are rife in JadeTeX and are often
considered "unfixable".  The whole other XSL toolchains might provide
better output.

If however you do find problems in the DSSSL stylesheets, please
report them here or better yet file them as bugs at
docbook.sourceforge.net and we can try to see if we can fix them.
Include example XML documents, too, please.
