Could perhaps role be used for built-in settings, and condition be
used for profiling?  The choice of roles (pardon the pun) of the two
attributes is arbitrary.  I picked role for built-in settings because
there is precedence in <emphasis role="bold">

Not sure I understand how this on/off parameter is supposed to
work.  Could you explain a bit more?
