Hi guys
I am using the newest version of cygwin (1.7.28) on my Lenovo Windows
7 machine (4 cores, SSD disk, 12GB RAM)
I have installed oh-my-zsh and the prompt is extremely slow.
I've executed a simple test "time git branch" in a folder with a
sample git repo - and it takes around 100 - 150 ms - which is a lot.
I've checked the BLODA list and it looks the my environment is fine.
On some other windows host (Azure Virtual Host, Windows Server, 2
cores) with the same cygwin version and the same oh-my-zsh config the
"time git branch" command takes around 20-30 ms. (5 times less)
I've looked at some possible solutions (disable UAC, setting the PATH,
etc) on my Lenovo host - but it didn't help.
One thing I was thinking about was the fact that the Lenovo machine
has a lot of network drives mapped.
I was trying to umount them but I couldn't find a way to do it.
My question is: could these network drives cause the git.exe to be
slow and if yes, what's the best way to umount/disable these network
drives so that my prompt is quick again.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
Tom
