There is no bug, not in Cygwin nor anywhere else. The standard file
attributes are all cleared and since I can't set any of them (a policy
which gets inherited) that stays for all files and directories that are
created. Before you ask, I can't change any of that.

That'd be a possible workaround, thanks.

I'd rather want to know why the snapshot triggers such a change in
behaviour and why the notion of the shells and Perl don't match.
