Re: Problems Installing Cygwin on Win XP Pro

Yes, I chose download. I had trouble with an earlier attempt a few days ago installing from the internet. So, can I proceed with what I have?

That's not a "redhat choice". It's the redwire mirror.

The install ended, but am I installed to execute Cygwin? I see nothing on the Start->Run Programs menu about Cygwin, and nothing on the desktop.

From the top few lines:
2009/04/20 20:59:06 Starting cygwin install, version 2.573.2.3
2009/04/20 20:59:06 io_stream_cygfile: fopen(/etc/setup/last-action) failed 2 No such file or directory

2009/04/20 20:59:06 io_stream_cygfile: fopen(/etc/setup/last-cache) failed 2 No such file or directory
...

What next?

If you don't see anything on the desktop it sounds like you chose the "Download" rather than the "Install" selection in setup.exe.
