To change the X-Startup scripts for Cygwin, look in the directory
/usr/X11R6/bin for the scripts startxwin.bat and/or startxwin.sh,
depending on which you use.
The line you want to edit is:
XWin -multiwindow -clipboard -silent-dup-error &
or
%RUN% XWin -multiwindow -clipboard -silent-dup-error
depending on if you start X from Windows or cygwin.
Remove the -multiwindow option.
