Thanks for the quick reply, Brian. I performed an $ echo $TERM after logging 
in:
astmatix <302> echo $TERM
rxvt-cygwin-native
Was the output...
I also noticed this string when logging in:
tcsh: using dumb terminal settings

So, given this information, any further hints?
