Whoops, should practice what I preach:
$ cygcheck -cd pinfo | grep pinfo
pinfo 0.6.8-1
$ diff /etc/pinforc.new /etc/pinforc
$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.1 pechtcha 1.5.10(0.116/4/2) 2004-05-25 22:07 i686 unknown unknown Cygwin
$
