Re: Setup.exe fails to access mirrors

Hi,

I quit my firewall program after this failed the first time just to check that and it made no difference. Possibly related is that I haven't been able to ssh at all for the past few days and I can't figure out why, although that could be completely separate.

Hi

I have no problems accessing the website. I just tried to install the
program again after a break of a few hours but still no joy.

Hi

When I run the setup.exe program, it fails when trying to access the
list of mirrors. Does anyone know why this is? I select direct
connect, which is how I connect to the internet. My connection
functions fine for everything else. I've also tried IE5 but that
doesn't work either.

Works fine from here now. Do you have trouble accessing the cygwin site?

Nathaniel,

Are you running any personal/desktop firewall software? You might wish to
check the logs to see if it's blocking setup's attempts to access the
mirror list. Some (in particular, Symantec Desktop Firewall) provide a
log of all web accesses by all programs (including those from setup.exe);
see if setup actually accessed
