- Subject: cygrunsrv + postgresql stale pid work around
I've seen this problem come up on various mailing
lists and wanted to share my work-around.
Create a script file (name it
/usr/bin/postmaster_service) with the following
contents:
rm /usr/share/postgresql/data/postmaster.pid
exec /usr/bin/postmaster -D /usr/share/postgresql/data
-i
create cygrunsrv to call postmasterservice instead of
postmaster.
so:
cygrunsrv --install postmaster_service --path
/usr/bin/postmaster_service --dep ipc-daemon --termsig
INT --shutdown
voila! that should do it.
windows will be smart enough to not let you start
service when it's already started.
so as long as you dont manually run postmaster and
then try to start postmaster_service
you should be ok.
