Re: How do I get my .bashrc read at startup?
If I remember correctly...
with older versions of cygwin the file /etc/profile
contained the following statement
test -f ./.bashrc && . ./.bashrc
which would read .bashrc at startup.
The above statement has been removed from newer versions.
I think that the "proper" way to read .bashrc is to
create a ~/.bash_profile with something similar to
the following:
if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then . ~/.bashrc; fi
When bash is launched with the "--login -i" options,
it looks for the .bash_profile file.
