1.3.10: CRLF problem introduced in upgrade

I have the following in my .bashrc:

export DISPLAY=`ipconfig | grep 'IP Address' | awk '{ split( $0, line, ":
" ); print line[ 2 ] }'`":0"

which after upgrading from 1.3.2 produces the following:

$ echo $DISPLAY
:02.168.2.23

A carriage return character is present overlaying the printed output. The
following show it is embedded in the string:

$ echo $DISPLAY | tr -d "\r"
192.168.2.23:0

Something has changed between versions of cygwin. Was that intentional?

$ mount
C:\cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type system (binmode)
C:\cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type system (binmode)
C:\cygwin on / type system (binmode)
c: on /cygdrive/c type user (binmode,noumount)

$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.0 DSPARTZ 1.3.10(0.51/3/2) 2002-02-25 11:14 i686 unknown
