Short description:
On Win NT, the -T option of tar does not handle DOS file correctly
Scenario:
a) edit a file lst.del with a DOS editor (e.g. notepad)
b) use this DOS file as argument of the -T option
bash-2.04$ tar cvf del.tar -T lst.del
: No such file or directorycreen.html
: No such file or directorycreen.html
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
Version:
bash-2.04$ tar --version
tar (GNU tar) 1.12
Note: the same problem has been corrected in awk quite recently
(GNU Awk 3.0.4 now handles DOS files given with the -f option)
