Re: Cannot type in xterm

Never mind, I found a solution. I found that, just as the FAQ says, the file
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XKeysymDB
Does not exist. However, as the file
/usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB
does, I created a symbolic link pointing from the inexistent file to the one that does now exist, and life is good.

For reasons I cannot explain, the updated startxwin.bat file did not resolve this situation on its own, nor did startxwin.sh.

Did you read the entire FAQ entry?

"If you are (perhaps unintentionally) using a copy of the old startxwin.bat (perhaps under another name) to start the X server, remove the environment variables XAPPLRESDIR, XCMSDB, XNLSPATH and XKEYSYMDB from it, or (preferrably) use the updated startxwin.bat."

So you're apparently using an old startxwin.bat/.sh. While you can
certainly tweak things to make these work in the new environment, if
it's all the same to you, things will go easier for you if you use the
new scripts with the new environment.
