I still haven't been able to get Cygwin/X working under Vista yet. I
was able to use XLaunch and fire off X applications from the cygwin
shell.

Be sure to set up $DISPLAY in your .bashrc:
export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
I'd love to know if there's a better way, though.
