I too am having this same problem.
I have been using cygwin/xwin for a few years now and have had no other
problems (besides an issue with purify that the numlock fix resolved for
me a year or 2 ago.)
I am attempting to use eclipse-SDK-3.0.2-solaris-motif.zip for Solaris 8
and:
