Re: Unable to start Xterm


Hi,

My cygwin.bat reads 

@echo off

C:
chdir C:\cygwin\bin

bash --login -i /usr/X11R6/bin/startxwin.sh 

I'm a newbie and I have very little idea on what is going on. My X
window output is 

Your group is currently "mkpasswd".  This indicates that
the /etc/passwd (and possibly /etc/group) files should be rebuilt.
See the man pages for mkpasswd and mkgroup then, for example, run
mkpasswd -l [-d] > /etc/passwd
mkgroup  -l [-d] > /etc/group
Note that the -d switch is necessary for domain users.
rm: cannot unlink `/tmp/.X11-unix/X0': Permission denied
rm: cannot remove directory `/tmp/.X11-unix': Permission denied

How do you start xterm? What does xterm output?
