Correct. I specified C:\cygnus as the installation target, and some
files/package (the XFree86 font packages to be exact) installed in
C:\cygwin, because that's where I had cygwin previously installed.

I since removed C:\cygwin and C:\cygnus and re-installed in the
"correct" directory C:\cygwin:

$ mount
C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\lib\X11\fonts on /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts type
system (binmode)
C:\cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type user (binmode)
C:\cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type user (binmode)
C:\cygwin on / type user (binmode)
c: on /cygdrive/c type user (binmode,noumount)
h: on /cygdrive/h type user (binmode,noumount)
m: on /cygdrive/m type user (binmode,noumount)
s: on /cygdrive/s type user (binmode,noumount)

Well, a weekly FAQ would help ;)  No, I don't volunteer :)
