XDMCP error

I have just came across a problem when connected to KDE 3 running on a
Redhat 7.2 box via XDMCP. While trying to get my uk keyboard to work I
connected this time using the command:
startxwin.exe -query <server name>
instead of my usual XWin -query <server name> which works fine.
everything seems ok except when I click on the Konsole icon I get the
following error:
Failed assertion, fds_on_hold != NULL, at line 643 of file
/cygnus/netrel/src/cygwin-1.3.10-1/winsup/cygwin/dtable.cc
konsole then loads up normaly.
