We had been building with -pedantic before we added -ansi. I think it would
be a good idea to remove -ansi until the Newlib headers are fixed, as the
176 warnings are just adding noise to the build process.
Furthermore, removing -ansi fixes a current bug (the whole hypot issue),
whereas leaving -ansi doesn't do much for us...
