XWin.exe bug? USER32.DLL could not be loaded.

When I run XWin.exe for some time under heavy load (KDE desktop with Opera
browser and multiple windows), I get an Windows NT error message that
"USER32.DLL" could not be loaded. From this moment, no new programs can be
started on the NT system, not even a DOS box (always same error message on
missing USER32.DLL). It even does not help to log out and log on again to
the NT system, the NT system must be completely restarted.

I checked the M$ knowledgebase Q142676 which says that the error
"USER32.DLL" is caused by an overflow of the desktop's heap. Maybe there are
memory holes caused by XWin.exe?

I tried the commandline arguments -ld 3000 and ls 1000 when starting
XWin.exe, and up to now the problem has not come up again. But maybe I did
not try it long enough to reproduce the error...

Can anyone tell me what is the reason for this behaviour?
