no. there are lots of *.cf files which do not work for Xfree86.
Those *.cf came from X11R6.x.
BTW: almost a year ago while Xfree86 4.0 was still being developed
internally at XFree86.org, I manage to compile it with MSVC 5.0
and had a patch file of 12 MB. I spent sveral months on it, but in a
computer crash I lost the patch file, and unfortunately I did not have a
backup copy :-( After that I never had a courage to start from scratch
again and spend several months. However to answer your questions, yes it is
feasible, but no resources or pointers on this. You can check win32-x11
project at http://sources.redhat.com/win32-x11 but it is based upon stock
X11R6.5.11
